Best Western Plus Stovall’s Inn
A Disneyland vacation is more than just the parks, it’s the place you come back to at the end of the day, the breakfast that fuels your morning, and the little touches that make everything feel magical. On my latest trip, I had the chance to stay at the Best Western Plus Stovall’s Inn in Anaheim, and it really surprised me with how much it offered for families on a budget. Big thank you to them for hosting me so I could give you this hotel review. Best Western Plus Stovall’s Inn Location and Convenience
Stovall’s Inn is located at 1110 W. Katella Avenue in Anaheim, just steps from the Disneyland Resort and a quick 10-15 minute walk to Downtown Disney. You can take the back route down Disneyland Drive or walk up Katella to Harbor Boulevard for the main entrance. If you’d rather not walk, you can use the Anaheim ART shuttle for a small fee or use rideshare options like Uber that are readily available. The location of this hotel also makes it one of the closest to the Anaheim Convention Center and just minutes from the I-5 Freeway, giving you easy access to Knott’s Berry Farm, beaches, and even San Diego attractions like LEGOLAND or SeaWorld.

Across the street you’ll find Finney’s Crafthouse, a lively spot for burgers, craft beer, and a laid-back dinner after a long park day. Though this restaurant does have a kids’ menu, it definitely has more of a traditional “sports bar” feel so keep that in mind if you plan on stopping by.
A Piece of Anaheim History
Stovall’s Inn has been part of the Anaheim hotel landscape since 1969, originally opened by the Stovall family during the space-age boom. Back then, the property embraced the futuristic, “Inn of Tomorrow” vibe, with playful mid-century details that made it stand out among the growing number of Disneyland-area motels. Over the years it has evolved through the styles of the 70s, 80s, and beyond, while staying family-owned and operated. Today, as a Best Western Plus property, it continues to blend modern comfort with that nostalgic Anaheim charm.
Rooms and Renovations at Best Western Plus Stovall’s Inn

I stayed in one of the newly renovated top-floor rooms and was impressed with the updates. The lighting was bright and modern, which made the room feel more inviting. The AC kept things cool on a warm Anaheim day, and the layout felt spacious enough for a family to spread out without feeling cramped. These renovated rooms also feature updated finishes and bedding, so everything feels fresh and well cared for, definitely worth requesting if they’re available during your stay.
Standard rooms come with either one king or two doubles/queens, all featuring crisp white linens, a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and flat-screen TV. The room also has a vanity area outside the bathroom, a must-have when getting ready for a Disney park day.

The non-renovated rooms are still a solid choice, but they are less modern. You’ll find them mainly on the lower floors, where the lighting isn’t quite as bright or as refreshed. I was told by management that the goal will be to renovate those rooms in the future. While they don’t have the newest finishes, they’re still comfortable and functional. They have similar in-room amenities like the mini-fridge and microwave that make family travel easier. For guests who prioritize value and just need a practical place to recharge after long park days, these rooms still get the job done.
Overall, whether you stay in a renovated or non-renovated room, you’ll have the essentials covered, comfortable beds, reliable air conditioning (a bit noisy but gets the job done), and plenty of space for your travel essentials. The difference really comes down to whether you want a more modern look or you’re happy with a simpler accomadations.
Breakfast Buffet at the Best Western Plus Stovall’s Inn

One of the biggest perks at Stovall’s is the complimentary daily breakfast buffet, served from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM. It’s the perfect way to start your morning before heading into the parks. The buffet includes a mix of continental favorites and hot items, with rotating selections so there’s always a little variety. Expect classics like scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, waffles, toast, yogurt, cereal, and fresh fruit. There is coffee, tea, and juices to keep everyone fueled as well. The setup is organized and secure, with room key access required for entry. This helps keep the dining area comfortable even during busy times.
If you’re an early riser aiming for rope drop at Disneyland, Stovall’s has you covered with their Grab-n-Go options like muffins, donuts, bananas and pastries. Each one includes a piece of fruit, a granola bar, and a bottled water, a simple but smart way to keep your family energized on the move. I really liked this option because it means you don’t have to sacrifice breakfast just to make it to the parks early.
And if you prefer to switch things up, you’re never short on dining options nearby. Finney’s Crafthouse across the street is the closest option. Downtown Disney is just a 10-minute walk away and has everything from quick bites to sit-down restaurants. Between the reliable hotel breakfast and the variety of food options close by, you’ll have plenty of choices for every appetite!
Pools, Gardens, and Amenities
Stovall’s Inn really goes above and beyond for a value property, offering amenities that feel closer to what you’d expect at a full resort. There are two large outdoor swimming pools, perfect for cooling off on warm Anaheim afternoons. There are also two hot tubs where parents can unwind after a long day in the parks. Families with little ones will love the separate children’s wading pool. It’s shallow enough for kids to safely splash while mom and dad relax nearby. For extra comfort, the pool area also has cabanas, which give you a shaded spot to sit back and recharge.

One of the most unique features on the grounds is the topiary garden. The hedges are trimmed into playful animal shapes that immediately add a sense of Disney-like whimsy. It’s a fun touch that makes walking around the property feel special. Kids will enjoy pointing out their favorites hidden in the greenery.

Beyond the outdoor spaces, you’ll also find practical amenities that make travel more convenient. It has a fitness center for keeping up with workouts and a small business center area for quick printing or computer access in the main lobby. There are also coin-operated laundry facilities for longer stays, and complimentary WiFi throughout the property.

For added convenience, there are free EV charging stations for registered guests. Additionally there is a Grab, Scan & Go self-serve area stocked with snacks, drinks, and travel essentials, perfect if you need a late-night bite or if you forgot something small. Self-parking is available on-site for $20 per night, which is still less than Disneyland parking!
Fireworks and Disney Views

Another fun perk is the ability to see Disneyland’s nighttime fireworks from select rooms. If your little ones can’t stay up late in the parks, this is a magical way to still enjoy a little piece of the magic from your hotel. Some upper-floor rooms even have views of Disney California Adventure landmarks like the Incredicoaster and Pixar Pal-A-Round. It’s small details like this that make Stovall’s feel connected to the Disney magic.
Pros and Things to Consider
What I Loved: The location is excellent for both Disneyland and the Anaheim Convention Center. The renovated rooms felt bright and comfortable, and the pools and garden really added a resort-style touch. Breakfast was a huge time-saver EVERY morning. The staff was warm and welcoming, making check-in smooth and easy.
What to Consider: Because of its location on Katella, some rooms can pick up street or pool noise. If that’s a concern, request a room in the back building. Parking does have a nightly fee, and breakfast can get crowded at peak times, so arriving early helps.
