But it gets easier to plan for when you know what time of year you’ll be planning your visit for. For instance, Florida can be quite hot and humid during the summer! I had gone in May to celebrate a birthday and it felt brutal! So I strongly advise you to make sure you’re staying hydrated, that you bring a fan, use sun block, take a cooling towel, and wear a hat because when the heavy overcast clouds aren’t overhead, the summer sun can be quite an obstacle. You’ll find yourself trying to frequently find shade in crowded spaces if you aren’t prepared. Bring lightweight layers and comfy shoes for long park days. Toss in some themed accessories for fun photos with characters.
When are the best times of year to visit Walt Disney World?
Keep in mind that between the months of May and November, you’re likely going to experience rain and storms. In Walt Disney World, they keep the parks open during a typical summer rain storm, but I would advise you to bring an extra pack of clothing to change into if you end up getting drenched. The worst feeling is when your shoes and socks are all wet (imo). Try not to stress too much about outdoor ride closures because there is still plenty of fun to be had around the parks.
Typically the Hurricane season in Florida begins in June and ends in November. Walt Disney World tends to be pretty good about informing guests of what to expect when there are changes in weather and updating what they can continue to enjoy during their visit. Make sure you have the proper rain gear when you’re out there during this time because the downpour of the rain is no joke! Keep in mind that Disney prioritizes the safety of all guests and hurricanes can be very dangerous so they may opt to close the park if necessary. Keep in mind that the best part of booking a hotel with Disney (in my opinion) is the perk that you get of 30 minutes early access into the Walt Disney World Parks every day of your stay–including during your check in AND check out days!!!
