What to Expect when dining at Napa Rose at the Disneyland Resort

What is Napa Rose at the Disneyland Resort?

Napa Rose is a restaurant located near Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel! This restaurant is renowned for its award-winning wine list, exceptional service, and delicious cuisine!

If you plan on celebrating a special occasion or if you just want to come in to enjoy the atmosphere of fine dining inspired by the beauty of California then Disney’s Napa Rose Restaurant is for you. It is a cozy environment with touches of elegance because it is one of Disney’s premier dining destinations.

Many guests who visit Napa Rose come to enjoy and indulge in the fine wine selection that they carry because they are meant to be wines that honors California’s rich culinary bounty, artisan farmers, and world-famous winemakers.

Who is the Chef at Napa Rose?

Disney has on their culinary team, Chef Andrew Sutton and Disney states on their website that he “can even create a personalized tasting menu tailored to your preferences”. Click here to view their menu.

How long is the typical dining experience at Napa Rose?

I wouldn’t say there is a definite time frame, however if you’re planning on making a reservation for a meal, I would say to give yourself about two hours or so so that you can relax, enjoy the atmosphere and of course your food.

What is the cost of dining at Napa Rose?

Disney does note on their website that their “menu items, pricing, hours, and any applicable entertainment offerings are subject to change or cancellation without notice”.

Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures at Napa Rose

Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures I would say is catered more to the children because they can enjoy interactions and photo opportunities with many of the Disney Princesses, themed activities, and receive a special take-home keepsakes.

If booking a reservation for this experience at Napa Rose you will be offered a three course breakfast meal that includes cold starters, a buffet of hot entrées, and desserts.

Do I need to make reservations to dine at the Napa Rose Restaurant?

Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made online through Disney’s website or through the Disneyland app. Same-day reservations are available but on a very limited basis and it does depend on availability. It is much harder in my experience to get same day reservations online. However, if you happen to be at the Disneyland Resort you can try joining their walk up list. I would recommend getting there about an 30 minutes to an hour before they open the restaurant (i.e., before they begin seating those with reservations) so you have a higher chance to get in.

Mobile Check-In for Dining Reservations at Napa Rose

For ease, use the mobile check in for your dining reservation through the Disneyland app for Napa Rose. Remember if you do have a reservation, it is important that everyone in your party should be with you for checking in because the hosts will seat the entire group together.

Is there a Dress Code for Napa Rose Restaurant?

According to Disney’s policies, the Napa Rose restaurant offers guests an elegant ambiance while still maintaining a relaxing/peaceful dining experience. So with that being said, they do request that guests dining at this location dress in a similar fashion that matches the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Disney has listed online that proper dinner attire includes “dress pants, well-kept jeans, collared shirts, dress shorts, sweaters, blouses, dresses, and lifestyle shoes. […Disney also asks that guests] refrain from wearing hats, swimwear, tank tops, cutoffs, or distressed jeans.”

What happens if I need to cancel my reservation for Napa Rose? Will I get charged a fee?

Disney does have a cancellation policy in place for guests. It is important you familiarize yourself with their terms, conditions and policies. According to Disney’s website, at this time to avoid a per person cancellation fee, you must cancel at least 2 days prior to your reservation.

Failure to cancel within the given time frame and not arriving for your dining reservation will result in a $50 fee charged per person from the card you placed on file when booking. Disney does have different policies when it comes to their “special dining events and holiday dining reservations […] and a separate cancellation policy may apply” so make sure to check their official website for any changes.

Is free Parking included when I book a dining reservation at Napa Rose?

One of the perks of dining at Napa Rose, is that guests can enjoy a complimentary 5-hour parking. After dining, you will get validation through Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. But if you would like to extend your stay and enjoy the rest of the Disneyland Resort after that 5 hour mark there are parking charges that apply.

  • $40.00 for the first hour of self-parking
  • $70.00 for the first hour of valet parking

Each additional hour will cost you $10.00, and the self-parking caps at $80. For valet parking, it is capped at $140.

However, if you are a magic key holder I would highly recommend using the parking structure and staying at Mickey and Friends or Pixar Pals! Because it is a flat fee given what you pay for your annual pass and you won’t have to worry about rushing. Just know that there will be some walking involved as it is farther from your destination. Parking is going to be subject to availability. If you do not have an annual pass the daily parking rate is $35 USD per car or motorcycle. Prices are also subject to change, so be sure to check Disney’s official website before visiting.

Other alternatives to parking would be going to the Downtown Disney District and parking through the Simba Lot which is located off of Disneyland Drive, between West Katella Avenue and the Pixar Place Hotel.

Prices for parking here begin at $10 USD and validations will apply after the first hour of paid parking. You can get 3 additional hours of the same day parking with a minimum purchase of $20 USD in any of their Downtown Disney locations or 5 additional hours same day if you plan on dining at table service restaurants.

Otherwise, Disney’s terms state that without any validations you would pay $14 USD an hour, charged with 30 minute increments and a minimum of $7 USD. If you select this area of parking DO NOT lose your ticket because it will result in you having to pay a fee of $66 USD even if you were there for just an hour.

Also be aware that the “restaurants and lounges within Disneyland Resort hotels do not validate for Downtown Disney District parking areas”. See more parking information here.

Can I be picked up and dropped off in different locations to access the Disneyland Resort?

  • According to Disney if visiting the Downtown Disney District: Access via Magic Way from Disneyland Drive, then turn left onto Downtown Drive and follow signs to the drop-off area. Standard parking rates apply after a 15-minute grace period.
  • If using Harbor Boulevard Disney states you should: Enter the drop-off area from the right southbound lane of South Harbor Boulevard, between South Manchester Avenue and Disney Way.
Harbor Boulevard Guest Drop-Off and Pick-Up

These locations can also be accessed via taxi and other rideshare services. Disney does allow a small grace period window of waiting if needed, but they specifically state that you may not park or leave any vehicle unattended at either location.

My personal experience dining at the Napa Rose Restaurant inside the Disneyland Resort

I have dined here to celebrate many of my own special occasions throughout the years and I’ve never been disappointed! At Napa Rose they do offer what they call a four course prix fixe Vintner Menu. During my most visit in April 2024 with my husband, we were told by our server that the chef would not do any substitutions of any kind which we were fine with. It was all delicious! But if you do have concerns about your food, Disney does make accommodations if you have dietary restrictions and/or allergies. At Napa Rose they also do have a la carte selections as well.

We both left the restaurant feeling very satisfied with the food selections we picked and the wine. I will say if you are looking to feel full, and I mean how you might after eating at a buffet then you might want to consider booking the Chef’s Counter experience instead at Napa Rose.

What is the Chef’s Counter Experience at Napa Rose?

The Napa Rose Chef’s Counter is meant to be a unique experience tailored to your personal tastes, and features seasonal menus and the chefs’ latest creations.

As a result, the menu you get will vary greatly each night, and so a review for any specific items you may have researched that others have tried may not reflect what you’ll experience.

If you are looking to book this experience, something to know is that you can only book on Friday’s, Saturday’s and Sunday’s and typically reservations are made 3 months in advance according to a cast member I spoke with online.

New reservations open up every 1st of the month and guests must call Napa Rose and leave a voicemail with detailed information about the booking they would like to make (e.g., name of guests, date of desired booking etc).

I was also informed by this cast member that I could call to inquire with Napa Rose to see if I could possibly join some type of walk up waitlist or any waitlist for that matter but this was not guaranteed.
