This will minimize your wait time in line to receive your wristband so you can be admitted into this Disney After Dark Event. Keep your wristband on at all times because it is a visual cue for cast members and allows you to access the parks during the event. Plus, it includes a unique QR code that you can have photographers scan after you’ve taken some magical pictures. If you’re wearing a Magic Band+, it will work for photos too.

Plan Your Meals: Consider having your meal before the event starts. While it’s tempting to focus on meeting characters, enjoying attractions, or watching parades, having a meal beforehand can optimize your time for other activities. However, if you have dining reservations, adjust your strategy accordingly.

Prioritize Your Must-Dos: Make a list of your top three favorite rare Disney characters or villains to visit first. Lines can be long, so prioritize meeting your favorites early in the event. Similarly, if attractions are your priority, consider riding one or two of your favorites before the party officially begins at 6:00 pm. This way, you’ll be ready to experience some of the more popular attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy Monsters After Dark as soon as they become available.

Treat Trails and Immersive Experiences

The Treat trails last year were open from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. It is likely to remain unchanged. You will get A LOT of candy and I do suggest you bring your own candy bags because you can get in line as many times as you want and fill it up!

Enjoy Exclusive Entertainment: The Frightful Fun Parade is an exclusive show for Oogie Boogie Bash attendees. While attractions may be your main focus, consider taking some time to enjoy this unique parade. Whether you watch the first show or the later one, it’s sure to be a highlight of your evening.

The Frightfully Fun Parade takes place twice each night. Last year the first show started at 7:50 pm followed by the second show at 10:05 pm and it is unlikely to change but check through the Disneyland app. Prepare to be dazzled as beloved Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Jack Skellington, Sally, and the Mayor from Halloween Town, Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow. Keep your eyes peeled for iconic Haunted Mansion hitchhiking ghosts, along with chilling Disney Villains like Hades, Ursula, and more!

To catch all the action, grab a spot along the sidewalks near Pixar Pier or near Carthay Circle. For guests with dining packages, you’ll receive a voucher providing details on where to go and what time to arrive to view the parade. The parade is about 20 minutes long.

Villains Grove

Last year in 2023, I had the pleasure of walking through Villains Grove at the Oogie Boogie Bash. It was a visually stunning journey through the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, which had been transformed by some of Disney’s most beloved villains. The grove was illuminated with mystical lights, captivating sights, and spooky sounds, creating a magical setting that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Here’s what you might expect if this wonderful transformation takes place again this year:

• Frollo’s Sanctuary: This area felt like stepping into an ethereal cathedral of trees, infused with the scent of incense and filled with haunting chants.
• Maleficent’s Will: I wandered through eerie ravens and thorn-covered vines, leading to a spellbinding waterfall that dazzled with a spectrum of colors.
• Queen of Hearts Garden: It was delightful to stroll through a garden where roses magically changed from white to red, just as the Queen of Hearts would have it.
• Scar’s Elephant Graveyard: Descending into this area, I was surrounded by the echoing wicked laughter of hyenas, mirroring the iconic scene from “The Lion King.”
• Dr. Facilier’s Friends on the Other Side: Shadowy hands and vibrant spells drew me deeper into the grove’s mysterious corners.
• The Wicked Queen’s Lightning Forest: The forest came alive with an electrifying storm that lit up the trees in a dazzling display.
• Home of the Wisps: Ethereal winged guardians guided us through a realm filled with boundless light and wonder.
• Dawn: The adventure concluded as flickering lanterns led the way to a radiant sunrise.

Keep an eye out for your favorite Disney characters lurking in the shadows throughout the park.

Here is a list of locations for the Disney Villain meet and greet characters were seen at the Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party in Disney California Adventure Park last year in 2023:

• At Hyperion Theater Queue the famous Ernesto De La Cruz (Pixar’s Coco) was seen.
• At Hollywood Backlot stage the live action Cruella was spotted.
• At Toy Story Midway Mania guests saw Lotso!
• At the Ancient Sanctum in Avengers Campus Marvel fans got a glimpse of Agatha Harkness (WandaVision)
• At Grizzly Peak the one we don’t talk about Bruno (Encanto) was present
• At Bountiful Hideaway Valley stood Madame Mim from the Sword in the Stone on her throne
• At Paradise Pier in front of the water, fans were able to meet King Mickey, Donald, and Goofy from Kingdom Hearts
• At Stage 12 near Monster’s Inc, the most sought out after trio, The Sanderson Sisters represented by Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow could be seen casting spells
• At San Fransokyo Square for the first time Yokai from Big Hero 6 was seen. It is unknown whether he will be returning this year as part of the villains for Oogie Boogie Bash.
• Behind Soarin’ Around the World guests saw Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. He was also a new villain who joined the party. It is also unknown whether he will return in 2024 or if a new villain will appear in his place.
• At the Pixar Bandstand near Mickey’s Fun Wheel many guests walked by to see Sid from Toy Story. He likes to poke fun of people as they pass by.
• At Grizzly Peak Trail Behind Grizzly River Run, guests were able to see Mother Gothel from Tangled.
• Inside the Animation Lobby near Off the Page the star of the show Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas was present.
• Near Carthay Circle near the fountain, three different villains could be found that included Prince Hans from Frozen, Sheriff of Nottingham from Robinhood, and the evil hag Snow White.

Sadly Maleficent was not present as a villain character meet and great nor Dr. Facilier from Princess in the Frog in 2023 but they were at the Oogie Boogie Bash in 2022.
